From the
geographical point of view, it is the eRegion that we can
understand as being a totality of organizations – linked by
eTechnologies – of nearby countries in a circle of 200 to
500 kilometers surrounding the observation point. The
eRegion development can offer a tangible example of
eCollaboration of organizations in the countries situated in
a certain geographical area. The eRegion development is
aiming at increasing the competitiveness of each of the
participating countries and the eRegion as a whole. The
eRegions development may contribute to the Lisbon Strategy
of the EU.
The undergraduate and graduate students will present the
results of diplomas illustrated by the prototype solutions
in the “e” area. Two emerging topics, requiring an executive
level attention of business, government and universities
will be discussed in the panels: the Cross-border eInvoicing
& eProcurement in the eRegion, and the Cross-border
eCollaboration in a disaster relief in the eRegion. Possible
areas of the joint cross-border projects and actions will be
suggested.
